I love the seasons. They help me remember that there is enough space and time for everything and there is a natural order and flow to life. Like our inhaling and exhaling breath the seasons reminds us that life exists in expansions and contractions, in ebbs and flows.
One of the most beautiful transitions is from winter to spring. From the quiet, solitude and depth of winter, flowers bloom, trees leaf out, birds build nests and animals awaken. The world is alive with beauty in its most colorful and abundant fullness.
Spring is a season of new beginnings. From the seemingly dead soil life emerges. The bulbs that make their way up through the dark soil and push through to the surface put all their effort into deepening roots and extending the stem upward. Birds migrating back home to nest endure hours of hard work and tremendous effort as they fly. Whether it is a plant surfacing, flowers growing, animals awakening or birds migrating focus, concentration and effort are required.
Spring is the time for connecting with your vision. What is it that you want to create or bring forth this year? Visions, goals and dreams require focus and effort…. yet it’s easy to get caught in the distractions, overstimulation or complacency. I find that taking the time to get clear about what you want and why you want it along with asking other discerning questions, helps to keep energy focused and moving forward.
Here are a few questions to reflect on as you work towards your vision for this year.
1. What do you want to grow, create or make happen this year? Why do you want this?
2. What are your greatest obstacles?
3. What direction do you notice your creativity and your energy flowing at this time?
4. What needs more of your attention? What needs less?
5. What needs ‘protecting’?
Take some time to write out the answers and see what you discover.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s start a conversation and share the wisdom.
