I received a BS in Education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. I am certified (CPCC) by Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and am a PCC member of the International Coaches Federation (ICF). I am also an experienced and trained facilitator, speaker and certified yoga instructor with 18 years experience.
In 1998, I founded a coaching and consulting company and worked with individuals, leaders and small business teams to;
-
- Build trust
- Create a year long plan of action
- Deepen personal leadership skills
- Increase self awareness and strengthen communication skills
My clients included Cox Communication, Viad, PetSmart and APS. I was invited to work with small business leadership teams to help them create a one year strategic plan and have monthly follow ups for accountability and personal leadership development. I worked with a variety of small businesses including a national psychology firm, accounting firms, a national marketing company and a international technology firm.
Seeing ‘trust’ as a key component for the success of individuals and teams, I began writing in 2004 about how to create trust and discovered the Way of Discovery Pathway. The Art & Practice of Trust was published in 2009 with the workbook, The Way of Discovery, co-authored with leadership coach and trainer, Nimrat Dhariwal CPCC, PCC, was published in 2013. I have found that when trust is present it makes all the difference.
As a personal leadership coach I am passionate about creating space for people to ‘be’ and to have time to reflect on what is most important to them. I love to listen and help individuals connect with and align with their most authentic and true self. I offer practical tools, support and inspiration to guide clients through times of change and uncertainty and help them create the personal and professional life they desire.
Learning has always been of great value and importance to me. I’ve been deeply influenced by Cultural Anthropologist Angeles Arrien, Ph.D. and poet, David Whyte and John O’Donohue. I’ve attended Jean Houston’s Social Artist Leadership Training and the CTI Co-Active Leadership Training. I am also a student of meditation and have attended Mindfulness Meditation Retreats lead by Master Buddhist Teacher Thich Nhat Hanh in the US and at Plum Village in France. I love to learn from a variety of sources, see common threads and translate and share insights and wisdom with others through coaching, speaking and writing.
I was born in Washington, DC and raised in Bethesda, Maryland. Phoenix, AZ has been my home now for over thirty years. I live with my family and my sweet dog, Gracie, and have three grown children and two adorable young grandchildren, Bradley and Addison. I love to read, write, explore, practice yoga, hike, travel, spend quiet time in nature and share my life with old and new friends.
